**Further Price Reductions on Saturday, March 23rd

PAYMENT -- You can pay with PayPal but you will be responsible for the transaction fee if the funds are from a credit card. There are no PayPal fees for bank funded transactions and I believe you can also send money as a gift without a transaction fee (not 100% sure). My PayPal address is oxybenzone@cfl.rr.com. Or you can also send a check or money order to:

Simon Fay
1108 S Riverside Dr
New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168

Shipping -- Shipping is a flat $15 for USPS Priority Mail for up to three sets.

Dimensions -- Unless otherwise noted, the side dimensions for all back/sides sets are a minimum of 32" long and 4.5" wide. Also, the minimum thickness for the back/sides should all be 1/8".

Layaway -- I recognize that most of what I'm selling is high-end. If you need time to come up with funds that isn't a problem. However, please make certain that you can complete the payment sometime in 2013 and that you will indeed go through with the purchase.

***New Sets Added

Malaysian Blackwood -- $350 per set
Allied Lutherie had some killer Malaysian Blackwood a while back and I purchased two of what I consider to be the nicest sets they've had. I paid just a few cents short of $350 with their 10% discount. These are remarkably high-grade sets. I needed some MBlackwood for a customer but then he changed his mind regarding the back/side -- I kept these anyway as I felt they were exceptional sets. However, I have decided that I just have too much money in inventory. I have optimized the bookmatch for my OM body shape. Please note - I will not be dropping the price on these sets. In fact, I'm hoping they won't sell ;)

The body outline is that of my OM - which has a 15.25" lower bout width.

Panama Rosewood -- $99
This is a very nice set I purchased from Gilmer Wood a couple years ago. The taptone is a dead ringer for Brazilian RW and it will make an amazing sounding guitar. I paid $180 for the set and so this is a bargain.

22.5" x 8.75"

OM Brazilian Rosewood Back/Side Sets

I bought these from Colonial Tonewoods over 6 years ago. I am selling them at the cost I paid Steve at the time. This is old growth Brazilian RW that came from a veneer log from the 60's. This is exquisite stuff and rings like a bell and a few of these sets are as good as it gets. They will all fit a Martin OM and some of the sets with wider upper bouts might fit a dreadnought. The sides unless noted are 4.5" in width or wider. Ask if you need detailed dimensions on one of the sets. Please email me at info@fayguitars.com if you need high resolution images.

Please note that these images were taken later in the evening and with a flash on - in a couple of these photos the silica in the pores really caught the light. The effect is much less noticeable in person but I still strongly advise spend 20 minutes or so and removing the silica with an awl once the sets have been thicknessed. When you pore fill, as long as the pores are mostly clean, the filler will lie on top of the silica and completely eliminate any white from showing up in the finished product -- this is not a flaw, just part of the process of working with Brazilian RW. If done properly, there will be absolutely no white pores in the finished product.

Steve legally obtained this wood but let the CITES permits expire -- so *United States Only*

I strongly recommend insuring these sets during shipment - that will be an extra $8 to $12 depending on the insurance amount.

Set #A -- $575
Side Width -- Tapers from 4.4" to 3.75"
Image

Set #B -- $650
Side Width -- Tapers from 4.4" to 3.6"

Set #C -- $900

Would be Mastergrade if the lower bout wasn't riftsawn - this quality Brazilian is incredibly rare!!!

Set #D -- $850
Mastergrade set but the sides are small.
Side Width -- Tapers from 4.1" to 3.6"

Set #E -- $800

Set #F -- $975
Mastergrade set -- incredibly rare!!!

Set #G -- $975
Mastergrade set -- incredibly rare!!!

Simon,

Put me down for 10 strips of the Wenge binding. I can’t help myself.

You don’t happen to have any Boise d'Rose binding just laying around? You know the crappy stuff you'll never use.

Thanks,

John

Hello Simon,
I will take the Ebony B&S set. I'll have the money together in about a month or two and mail you a check to avoid the PayPal fee. I've been looking for a set like that for a long, long time and I just can't pass it up.

Thanks,
Joey

P.S. If I win the lottery or come across a bunch of money in the next couple months I'd also be interested in that master grade of BRW as well. I want to build a personal guitar out of that stuff! I suppose I should clean out my shop and sell some stuff as well.

Many of the sets have sold. I have just discounted the Panama Rosewood and Claro Walnut sets by about $20 each.

Hi Dan,
Joel M pulled the trigger on the Ziricote and Walnut sets last night -- and I've just now gotten around to updating the thread. Sorry 'bout that.
